UPDATE: Our Story Slam was scheduled for Tuesday but because of the icy roads we have postponed the Story Slam until Wednesday, March 4th. Please come out and bring some friends! It’s a great theme!

Delco Story Slam returns on Tuesday, March 4 with the theme “Delco Stories!” We start telling stories at 8pm, but come early to enjoy a meal and a drink at Maggie O’Neill’s Irish Pub. Advance tickets can be ordered HERE for $8. Tickets at the door are $10.

What do we mean by “Delco Stories?” We are looking for stories that are uniquely Delco. These could be stories are set in a unique Delco location. Maybe you have a classic story that happened at the Bazaar of All Nations, or Lou Turk’s, or Pica’s Pizza, or the Llanerch Diner, or the Tower Theatre. Maybe you have a hilarious story set in Media, Folcroft, Glen Mills, Upper Darby or Aston. Maybe you have a story of a trip you took that made you realize that Delco is unique in its own way. Are you a Delco transplant? A Delco native? Tell us your Delco story.

IMG_4575For those telling a story, you sign a release once you arrive at Maggie O’Neill’s. We’ll pull names out of the hat and each person selected has five minutes to tell their story, “true as you remember it.” We record video of each story and place the stories on our Youtube channel. In addition, we select three stories each month for our iTunes podcast. You can check out our Rules page to learn more. This is your chance to preserve that classic family story.

Save the date! We hope to see you March 4 at Maggie O’Neill’s Irish Pub. Order your tickets HERE.

Looking for inspiration? Here’s one of our all-time favorite stories set in Delco, a story told by Luke Stromberg.
